SIDMA College Student Representative Council (SRC) Team Building Program – was held successfully despite its postponement due to the rising cases of COVID-19 in Sabah. It was organized by Student Affairs Department (STAD) under Mr. Terence Boyd Stephen's supervision on 14-16 March 2022 at Kiulu Farm Stay, Tamparuli.
This program was crucial to develop leadership, collaboration, and communication skills among the new members. This three-day program aimed to build the members' better understanding of the key roles' responsibilities in the team, align their individual goals with the team's and practise professional decision-making skills to overcome issues related to the team's concerns. STAD also hoped that the program could benefit the newly appointed SRC members as an effective team throughout their term.
This program was participated by 15 newly appointed SRC members for the term 2022/2023. It was led by seven facilitators (alumni and former SRC members), namely Ms. Jayphanie Archie Justin, Mr. Muhamad Nadzreen, Ms. Ozy Jaintin, Ms. Gillian Patrick, Ms. Wardatul Humaira, Mr. Muntasil Bin Samil, and Mr. Mohd Aizad Bin Jaumin.
The members were divided into three different groups - Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie throughout the program. Some of the main team-building activities conducted during the program were Obstacle Courses, Nightline and Treasure Hunt, Ice Breaking. Besides establishing better relationships and cohesiveness among the members, such activities also encouraged them to showcase high performance and interdependency in team spirit. After dinner, indoor activities including Werewolf, Tip-Tap-Toe, Heart-to-heart Sessions, Titanic Game, and Culture Night were held. The members enjoyed the indoor activities the most as they could communicate their hearts, grow closer, and be more understanding towards each other.
The three-day program was concluded with a handover ceremony by the previous SRC president, Ms. Jayphanie Archie Justin, to the newly appointed SRC president, Ms. Siti Mardhiah Binti Ahmad Masni. The ceremony was witnessed by Mr. Terence Boyd Stephen, SIDMA College STAD Manager, and fellow facilitators.
