FMK 9

In our diverse and inclusive college, students from various cultural backgrounds come together to celebrate and cherish this festival. Two such prominent festivals that has brought joy and unity to our campus is Hari Raya and Kaamatan. This festival was held at the Sidma College Atrium from 9am to 4pm on May 18, 2023. These celebrations not only allowed us to honor our traditional roots but also promote unity, understanding, and friendship among our college community. This festival involved students, lecturers as well as our fellow staffs. Throughout the festival, a variety of activities has been carried out, including Sugandoi competition, lucky draws, candy guessing, performances from each club, and also competition for the most attractive traditional attire among college staffs and students.

KOTA KINABALU: The first coding school in Sabah, Elevate Academy of Technology and Innovation (Elevate Academy), recently inked Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with two learning institutions here to provide training and development solutions in emerging technologies.

The agreements were signed with Sidma College and KKIP Aerospace Training Centre (KATC) during a ceremony on Tuesday (May 9) here, witnessed by the state Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry deputy permanent secretary II Alijah Ismail.

The event, which coincided with Hari Raya celebrations, was also attended by various industry stakeholders, representatives from agencies under the Ministry and other state government agencies, said Elevate Academy in a statement on Thursday (May 11).

On April 10th, 2023, Gabungan Mahasiswa Mahasiswi SIDMA Sabah (GAMSIS) organized a program called Ihya Ramadan, which was aimed at promoting the values and spirit of the holy month of Ramadan. The event included a variety of activities, which were designed to provide an immersive and engaging experience for everyone involved. One of the highlights of the program was the Majlis Khatam Al Quran, where participants had the opportunity to complete the recitation of the entire Quran. This activity was followed by Islamic lecture that focused on the miracle of Al Quran and its relevance in contemporary times.

As the sun began to set, everyone gathered to participate in the break fasting ceremony, where they enjoyed a delicious meal of dates, water, and a variety of local dishes. This was followed by the Taraweeh congregational prayers, which provided an opportunity for everyone to reflect on their faith and connect with one another. In addition to the spiritual activities, the Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar, also prepared a dish called Bubur Lambuk to be distributed to everyone. This traditional dish, which is typically served during Ramadan, was a testament to the spirit of community and sharing that characterizes this holy month.
